The shape of Lens station, built in 1926 by Urbain Cassan, is reminiscent of a steam locomotive and is the first example of Art deco architecture to arrive in the Mining region. The interiors are decorated with beautiful mosaics, inspired by the cubist movement, that depict scenes of industrial life.
