The Louvre-Lens will open its doors to the general public in 2012.
This former mining wasteland, between the highest slag heaps of Europe and the Bollaert stadium will become the site for the prestigious Parisian museum. The architectural plans, put together by Sanaa, a Japanese firm of architects, involve a collection of buildings to be constructed on the site The architecture is transparent with facades made of glass and aluminium.
When it opens, the Louvre-Lens will take you on a voyage of discovery through the collections of the Louvre allowing the general public access behind the scenes.
